With heavy hearts and deep regret, we reflect on and celebrate the life of Alex DeAngelo, 26, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, who died at his home on April 4, 2026. The adored son of Louis V. DeAngelo Jr. and Kristen (Davis) DeAngelo, Alex, who was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was a cherished brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth and love to everyone he knew.
Alex's life was defined by his love for his family; he was a silent but very passionate person. Sitting around the table, sharing meals, laughing with his siblings, and repeatedly asking, "when will Mom be here? " were the basic, significant events that brought him the most happiness. The depth of his relationship with his family—a bond that will never be broken—was reflected in those little but potent displays of affection.
At the Southern Craft Restaurant, where he worked alongside his father and brothers, he rose from being a support role to being a vital component of the establishment. Alex was instrumental in developing new menu concepts because of his distinctive, sophisticated palate and forthright views. He never hesitated to give his sincere, honest feedback. His presence in the house and at the restaurant was steady, loving, and anchoring.
Sharing his love of sports, especially his beloved LSU teams, with his brother Louis, Alex was enthusiastic about them. He was also a creative person who frequently used painting and drawing as a medium for self-expression and inner tranquility. Despite being the least talkative of his siblings, his heart was brimming with love, empathy, and concern for other people. Alex's affection was evident in every encounter, whether he was laughing at Aiden's jokes, listening to Isabella's vivid impressions, or mentoring his younger brother Leonardo.
His family recalls that he always made sure to say "I love you" before leaving, a straightforward but potent habit that now acts as a constant reminder of the love he held in his heart.
Alex is survived by his adoring parents, his siblings Louis III, Aiden, Isabella, and Leonardo, his nephew Louis IV, and a huge extended family that will always remember him fondly. He is now at peace, reunited with his grandparents in heaven.
The visitation will take place at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg on Friday evening, and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Vienna at 11:00 AM on Saturday.
To remember Alex, his family invites us to get together, share food, smile, and love one another, just as he did every day. He endures in those times.
Alex, may you find peace. You will always be cherished, dearly missed, and never forgotten.
