Woodward Park Suicide: Man from Fresno, CA, Who Died by Hanging Has Been Identified

 Fresno, California — An inquiry is underway regarding the death of a man discovered in Woodward Park on Friday morning.



The Fresno Police Department reported that officers were summoned to the northern section of the park, located just west of Friant Road, after a jogger found a man who was not responsive and alerted the authorities. Both police and medical emergency teams arrived at the location and declared the man dead.

Officials have stated that the death is currently under investigation and is suspected to be a suicide; however, the inquiry is still ongoing as officers strive to ascertain the details surrounding the incident. At this point, no further information has been disclosed.

Consequently, Woodward Street adjacent to the park has been temporarily closed off to the public due to the investigation. Police are urging locals and visitors to steer clear of the immediate vicinity while officials are examining the scene.

The deceased has been identified as a Black male in his 40s. Authorities have not yet released his identity, as they are waiting to inform his next of kin.
