Following the terrible passing of his 5-year-old brother, authorities in Centennial, Colorado, took an 11-year-old boy into custody, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office reported.

Around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, after getting a report on an occurrence involving a youngster, deputies went to a home on South Jericho Way. Officers arrived and found the five-year-old kid dead within the home.

Investigators eventually verified that the victim's 11-year-old brother had been apprehended in relation to the incident and is under first-degree murder charges.

Authorities have not yet made public any specifics about the events surrounding the death of the infant. Detectives are still looking into what transpired inside the house and how the deadly event happened, according to the sheriff's office.
